First, install Primary devices in HA mode

For a controller in HA mode, if the down of the Primary device falls off, you need to replace the device. What should you pay attention to:

1. Make sure that the versions of the controllers are consistent.

2. Configure the management ip address of the same network segment as the secondary device on the new device.

3. Add the configuration of HA to the new device, including redundant management,ip address,peer primary. Open AP SSO.

4. When AP SSO is enabled, the device will restart. When the device is rebooted, AP SSO will find the Secondary device currently in Active state, and synchronize the configuration, and the newly replaced device will enter a Standby-Hot state.

Note: you do not need to remove the HA configuration of the current Active device or restart the current Active device.

Add other licenses to the HA pair

Follow these steps to add a new license to the primary WLC of HA and avoid any conflicts that may occur on the network.

① in the GUI interface, close the AP SSO of the Primary device, and click "Apply" to submit:

② if the WLC ports of the controller is off, turn on the ports management status of the Primary device, and then click "Apply" to submit:

③ installs license on the controller and restarts the controller
