◆ preparation work

① JDK1.5.0

Specific steps for ◆ Flex1.5 environment configuration

1. Install JDK1.5.0

After downloading ①, double-click to install it. I will install it here in D:\ jdk1.5.0_01. JRE5.0 will be installed automatically during installation, and you can install it to another path.

② then sets the environment variable, right-click my computer > Properties > Advanced > Environment variable > system variable > New (as shown in the following figure):

Variable name: JAVA_HOME

Variable value: C:\ jdk1.5.0_01

2. Install Tomcat5.5.6

Double-click the installation after downloading the ①, and remember to select "service" during the installation process (as shown below) so that Tomcat can be launched as a windows service. I installed Tomcat here in the C:\ Tomcat5.5\ directory.

② then configures the http port number and administrative password, which can be entered as needed, and the port defaults to 8080.

During the installation of ③, you will be asked to specify the directory of JRE, and it will automatically detect it and press the default. If it is not detected, please manually enter your JRE installation directory.

After the ④ Tomcat installation is completed, a small icon will be generated in the status bar. If the small green triangle indicates that the Tomcat server has been started successfully, you can double-click this icon to enter the Tomcat Services console and start and stop the service with Start and Stop.

3. Install Flex1.5

The ① step is to unzip, double-click the downloaded flex-15-win.exe, and select a directory to which you unzipped it, such as "Desktop".

② open the unzipped folder on the desktop, such as "I1103705281", enter the windows directory inside, and double-click Flex.exe to install.

Just click Next for ③ installation. The serial number is required during the process, or a 60-day trial version if left blank. (if you don't have your own online search for ^ _ ^) I install Flex here in C:\ ProgramFiles\ Macromedia\ Flex.

The most important part of ④ is to install Flex into Tomcat. Go to the webapps directory under Tomcat (here is C:\ Tomcat5.5\ webapps) and create two new directories, one is flex and the other is samples (remember, the Tomcat server is case-sensitive! ).

⑤ uses winRaR to extract the flex.war under the Flex program directory (in this case, C:\ ProgramFiles\ Macromedia\ Flex\ APP) to the flex directory you created in the previous step. Similarly, extract the samples.war to the samples directory you created in the previous step. At this point, Flex1.5 is installed.

⑥ opens "http://localhost:8080/samples/"" in the browser, and click "FlexExplorer" in the left navigation bar. If you see the effect shown below, congratulations, your Flex server has been installed successfully!
