VirtualBox, an open source and cross-platform virtualization software for Linux,Windows and Mac systems, released today, allowing users to run a variety of operating systems through virtual machines on the same or different hosts. VirtualBox 6.0 took months of development and highlights include exporting virtual machines to Oracle Cloud architecture, significantly improved HiDPI and extended support for high-end displays, including better monitor detection, surround sound support for Windows 10 Version 1809 users, and stronger performance for Hyper-V support on Windows hosts.

­VirtualBox 6.0also makes great adjustments to the user interface to provide users with a more simple and intuitive graphical interface, basically barrier-free to complete the virtual machine setup in just a few minutes. These improvements also introduce a new resource manager that allows users to control the guest file system and easily copy files between the virtual machine and the host operating system.

­other noteworthy improvements include support for the upcoming Linux Kernel 4.20 kernel, 3D graphics support for Windows clients, support for VMSVGA 3D graphics device emulation on Linux and Solaris-based clients, initial support for macOS Guest Additions, and new vboximg-mount tools for macOS clients.

­VirtualBox 6.0also brings better audio and video recording, improved support for connecting and separating remote desktop connections, better serial port emulation, network and iSCSI fixes, support for DHCP options in VirtualBox Manager, performance improvements for shared folders, and support for OS / 2 visitors to the initial shared folders.
