Ampler is back with two new pedal-assisted electric bikes-Juna and Axel-- have added newer versions of the company's Curt, Stout and Stellar. Five relatively lightweight e-bike lineups offer something for everyone to attract riders of all sizes and tastes, designed to look like ordinary bicycles, thanks to the neat integration of batteries in the lower tube.

I saw every new Amplers at a private event at the company's new Amsterdam showroom and service center. Every e-bike-from the sporty Curt and Axel to the relaxed Juna and Stellar step-through to the rugged Stout---expresses the mature form and function that you expect from a company that helps develop an ideal city and electrify commuters.

"We call it the second generation because almost everything is new, including completely internally developed frameworks and electronic systems designed to provide a complete Ample experience," Ardo Kaurit, Ample's chief executive and co-founder, said in a press release. " We are keen to create e-bikes for urban commuters-bikes that are exciting, durable, safe and made in a responsible manner. I believe we have taken a big step towards our goal in terms of a new generation. "

Estonia-based Ampler was founded in 2014 by three friends: a professional off-road motorcycle racing driver, an engineer and a bicycle designer. The company launched three attractive e-bikes in 2016, when the category was dominated by bulky bolt-fixed battery designs for older riders. Today, Ampler has more than 140 employees and has shipped more than 15000 e-bikes. It recently received millions of dollars in new investment to expand its European operations and build new factories in its hometown of Tallinn, while expanding its showrooms to new factories in Amsterdam and Zurich outside Tallinn, Berlin and Cologne.
