Modify the registry

3. Enter (replicable) in the address bar of the registry editor window:\ HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\ SOFTWARE\ Microsoft\ Windows\ CurrentVersion\ Explorer

4. After copying the registry path, we press the enter key on the keyboard to navigate to Explorer

5. Right-click Explorer-New-string value

6. We name the new # 1: Max Cached Icons.

7. Left-click: Max Cached Icons, in the pop-up edit string dialog box, edit the numerical data of Max Cached Icons to: 4096 (you can choose between 4096 and 8192), and then click: OK

8. Click "File"-"exit" in the upper left corner of the registry editor window to exit the registry editor. Restart the computer to see if the desktop icon is displayed faster when the computer is booted into the system desktop.

9. If the system is unstable after adding a string value of-Max Cached Icons-4096 to the Explorer key, we can delete the added registry key as follows:

Go to Registry Editor and navigate to the Explorer registry key

Locate and right-click Max Cached Icons-Delete

10. A dialog box will pop up to confirm the deletion of the value:

Deleting some registry values can cause system instability. Are you sure you want to permanently delete this number?

We still click: yes (Y)

After deleting the Max Cached Icons string value, exit the registry editor.
