ASA ASDM configuration

Cisco Adaptive Security Device Manager (ASDM) is a graphics-based adaptive security appliance manager provided by Cisco.

Ciscoasa# conf t enters global mode

Ciscoasa (config) # web*** enters WEB × × mode

Ciscoasa (config-web***) # username cisco password cisco create a new user and password

Ciscoasa (config) # int g 0 enters the management port

Ciscoasa (config-if) # ip address 192.168.123.199 255.255.255.0 add IP address

Ciscoasa (config-if) # nameif inside give the management port a name

Ciscoasa (config-if) # no shutdown Activation Interface

Ciscoasa (config) # ex exits the management interface

Ciscoasa (config) # http server enable enables HTTP service

Ciscoasa (config) # http 192.168.123.0 255.255.255.0 inside sets a manageable IP address in the management port

Ciscoasa (config) # show run check the configuration

Ciscoasa (config) # wr m save

After the above configuration, you can configure the firewall with ASDM.

First, connect the computer to the management port of the firewall with a cross line, and set the computer to the IP address of the management port. In this example, the IP set to paragraph 192.168.4.0 opens the browser and enters the IP address of the management port in the address bar:

Https://192.168.123.199

Pop up the security certificate dialog box and click Yes

Enter the user name and password (that is, the new user and password created in WEB × × mode of the serial port), and then click OK.

Also below the dialog box appears, click "Download ASDM Launcher and Start ASDM" to start the installation of ASDM Manager, after installation, download a JAVA virtual machine software from the Internet (using Java version 1.4 or above), enter WWW.JAVA.COM to download and install, and click "Run ASDM as a Java Applet" below after installation.

The following dialog box appears and click "Yes".

The following dialog box appears, enter the user name and password (that is, the new user and password created in the WEB × × mode of the serial port), and then click Yes.

The following dialog box appears and click "Yes".

Enter the ASDM Manager.

This allows you to configure the firewall through ASDM.

In the future, you can directly use ASDM to manage the firewall.
