Shulou(Shulou.com)06/03 Report--

This article describes how to manage Azure virtual machines (VM) that are backed up using Azure Backup services.

In the Azure portal, the Recovery Services vault dashboard provides access to vault information, including:

The latest backup is also the latest restore point. Backup strategy. The total size of all backup snapshots. The number of VM enabled for backups.

You can use the backup dashboard to view the backups of each of these VM.

1. View VM on the vault dashboard

To view VM on the Vault dashboard:

1) Log in to the Azure portal

2) Click the Recovery Services vault in the left navigation bar, or click the vault you have created directly in the dashboard-all resources

If there is no Recovery Services vault in the left navigation bar, you can click on all services, and then enter reco in the search box zhong, you can search the Recovery Services vault, and click the five-pointed star collection button on the right, which can be fixed to the left navigation bar.

Open the dashboard

Click the backup item-Azure Virtual Machine

The backup status, backup status and the latest restore point of the virtual machine can be found in the backup project.

From the vault project dashboard, modify backup policies, run on-demand backups, stop or restore VM protection, delete backup data, view restore points, and run restore.

2. Manage the backup strategy of VM

To manage backup policies, open the vault dashboard and click "Azure Virtual Machine" in the backup management type.

In backup items, you can view a list of protected VM and the status of the last backup with the latest restore point time. Click the virtual machine that needs to modify the backup policy

Click backup Policy, and then select the relevant policy in backup Policy on the right.

Click Save

3. Perform on-demand backup

After you set up protection, you can run an on-demand backup of VM. A few points to pay attention to:

"if the initial backup is suspended, the on-demand backup creates a full copy of VM in the Recovery Services library." "if the initial backup is complete, the on-demand backup sends only the changes from the previous snapshot to the Recovery Services vault." In other words, future backups are always incremental. The retention range for an on-demand backup is the retention value that you specify when the backup is triggered.

To trigger an on-demand backup:

1) on the vault project dashboard, under protected items, select backup items.

2) from backup Management Type, select Azure Virtual Machine. Backup items (Azure virtual machines) are displayed

3) Select a VM, and then select backup now to create an on-demand backup. Backup now appears

In the keep backup time field, specify the date of the backup you want to keep
