The third major version of Google's Wear OS platform was officially released earlier this year for Samsung Galaxy Watch 4 and Watch 4 Classic, but the watches are built with heavily modified One UI. We still don't have a full picture of how Wear OS 3 looks on other wearable devices, but Google has now released an updated simulator image that should be closer to the image displayed on Fossil Gen 6, TicWatch Pro 3, and other watches in 2022.

Back in May, Google released the first simulator image of Wear OS 3, a few months earlier than Galaxy Watch 4. This version includes elements of Material You, as well as updated application drawers and quick setup menus. Google has now uploaded a new simulator image, which was built on November 17, so let's update the look of "inventory" Wear OS 3. Screenshots posted by Reddit user amoledwatchfaces (via Mishaal Rahman) show more gradients, switches in the settings application home page, new brightness sliders, and icons in the recent menu.

The new version seems to have some similarities with Samsung's One UI skin. More settings menus have a switching function, so you don't need to click multiple times to change the settings, and there are more icons on the interface. It's never fun to click on endless menus on a smartwatch, and Wear OS 3 seems likely to reduce that.

Google said earlier this year that going out and asking TicWatch Pro 3 GPS, TicWatch Pro 3 Cellular/LTE and Fossil Gen 6 would include Wear OS 3 "in the middle to second half of 2022." There is still plenty of time between now and then to make more changes, so the final version of Wear OS 3 for non-Samsung watches may eventually look a little different, but that's what we have to continue to do now.
