III. Connect to the database on MySQL Workbench

If the installation is normal, MySQL Workbench will show that the local database can be connected under MySql Connections, as shown in the following figure.

Click on the gray background area to enter the password for root. When we install MySQL Server above, set the password to root. After entering the password, click on the connection to successfully connect to the local database. If there is no gray, you click the + button next to it, enter the user name and password according to the contents of the panel, select the database of the local service, and you should be able to connect.

1. Create our own database db1

Click on the red box above, follow the prompts to create a new database, enter the name db1, code select utf-8, the created database, which can be seen under the left panel.

In the figure above, db1 is our newly created database, and sys is the default database after MySQL Server is installed.
