Commands related to AIX software installation
Fileset (Filesets) the minimum installable unit package (Packages) of the AIX operating system consists of a set of independently installable filesets. The registered program product (LPP) LPP contains all software packages associated with the registered program. Software bundle (Bundles) A set of software that contains filesets, software packages, and LPPs for a particular purpose. The default software bundle of the system, which stores the software bundle created by the / usr/sys/inst.data/sys_bundles user. The storage path is / usr/sys/inst.data/user_bundles PTF (temporary fix): a new fileset or a fileset that has fixed errors in the previous system. Installp command to install and follow new software
Installp
-an apply one or more software products or follow new (default action)
-B just the software and the new
-C cleans up the interrupted installation and attempts to remove all incomplete fragments of the previous installation.
-C will be applied and new submitted to the system
-d xxxx specifies the installation media
-F forced installation
-f xxx reads the name of the software product from xxx
-l lists all the software included on the installation media and options that can be installed independently
-N does not save software that is replaced during installation or upgrade (used with-ac)
-r rejects all new software that is currently applied but not submitted
-v verify that the installed file has the correct checksum value after installation
-X expand the file system if there is not enough space during installation
Software can be installed in one of two states: applied (applied): add the software to the system and keep the previous version committed (submitted): add the software to the system and delete the previous version
The lilpp command displays information about installed filesets or fileset updates
-l displays the specified fileset name, recent level, and state machine description
-h displays historical information about the installation and updates of the specified fileset
-a displays all information
-f displays the files added to the system when a specific fileset is installed
Instfix command
The instfix command allows you to install a patch or set of patches without knowing anything except the APAR that identifies the patch (Authorization Analysis report)
-a displays patch-related instruction text-d xxx specifies the input device-f xxxx specifies the input file xxxx that contains the keyword or patch name
