Even so, it is still required to be installed as Win 7.

Let's share my installation process.

My version of X270 CPU is 6-generation i5, you can install win7, if you happen to buy 7-generation i5, or the latest 8-generation, or honestly install win10, if it is not a ThinkPad series notebook, and ThinkPad does not provide win7-related software zone drivers, it is recommended not to.

First, change the configuration of BIOS

Note: if you want to enter BIOS, you must restart the original Win10 before you can enter the optional prompt to wait for entry into BIOS.

Forgive me for not remembering the Dell key to enter BIOS, because different notebook brands are different.

F12 enters the startup option

Press Tab to enter App Menu

Here is the configuration

Conventional Legacy+IDE configuration in this generation of ThinkPad X270 is no longer adapted, the latest BIOS are all AHCI mode, which has increased the requirements of PE, thousands of years do not want to format U disk to update PE, it is really difficult for me, so I can find the best solution is to enter BIOS in Security, turn off Secure Boot, in Startup, change UEFI/Legacy Boot to Both, and set Legacy to First,CSM Support to Yes.

Method one, try to use the external USB CD-ROM drive, burn the pure version of the win7 image to install.

Method 2, PE+Ghost

Process:

1. The GE tool reformats the original solid state disk with Win10 and aligns it with 4K.

3. After the installation is complete, it can only be booted through PE and started on local disk.

The image card was decrypted in the startup win7 window and could not enter the system. At first, it was thought that it was being configured, but there was no change in 20 minutes.

4. Attempt system failed to boot successfully, attempt to use PE repair startup-failed

In the end, I wanted to install the USB CD-ROM drive again, but I accidentally saw the Windows 7 repair function. I tried to fix it, but unexpectedly-successfully repaired and entered the system.

Enter the system, but the Ghost system does not recognize any drivers of the X270. It may be that the downloaded Ghost image is not powerful enough.

Go to the Lenovo driver official website, download the wireless network card driver, install the Lenovo driver housekeeper, match the driver installation, and install a pirated X270 win 7 immediately.

At the end of the day, it is not recommended to install Win7, not because of the security upgrade of the new windows system.

First, because X270 comes with genuine Win10 and office 365 (Microsoft account is required for activation)

Second, many keyboard shortcuts with Fn combinations are not compatible with Win 7 systems, so they can only be adjusted for sound and brightness.

Third, the startup speed is greatly reduced. The original Win10 basically started in 8: 10 seconds, but after installing win7, it can only be guaranteed to start between 20: 29.
