Cognitive testing framework

At first, hearing about test architecture is as sacred and mysterious as hearing about software architecture. Holy because these two positions are software testing and software development at the top of the technical line, generally at the expert level. Mystery, because they do not know what they do specifically, let alone professional people, even if they are the same software industry, may not be able to explain clearly. Let's interpret it together.

First, understand what architecture is. Architecture has the following three interpretations in Chinese dictionaries:

Build; build.

2. Frame; support.

The organization, structure and pattern of things.

In the explanation of architecture, the first thing mentioned is architecture, which is also the original source. Later, engineering design with similar characteristics in other industries is also called architecture design, such as software architecture design, test architecture design, etc. Architecture design aggregates the wisdom of designers and is a high-level design from a strategic position. Successful design, it has soul, is the perfect combination of art and science and technology. According to the results of the design, there are levels of architectural design, including qualified architectural design, excellent architectural design, excellent architectural design, and rare architectural design in the world. As Figure 4-1 shows, architecture design itself has its own progression.

Qualified and excellent architectural design in the construction industry is not uncommon around our lives, but it is excellent, especially excellent products are rare, such as Shenzhen's Diwang and Beijing's Bird Nest. Diwang, a landmark building in Shenzhen, is 383.95 meters high, integrating architecture and cultural landscape, which can be called an excellent innovative architectural design; while the giant stadium of the 2008 Beijing Olympic Games-"Bird Nest" is an outstanding architectural design, which not only impressed the world with its wonderful appearance, but more importantly, its significance and reflected ideas are profound and distant. "Nest" symbolizes the birth of life,"nest" is like a cradle, pinning human hope for the future.

Architecture in architecture can be so beautiful, how does it compare to software architecture and test architecture? Construction industry has a history of thousands of years, and software engineering system is gradually formed with the rapid development of information industry in recent decades. The mention of test architecture in the industry is something that has emerged in recent years with the emergence of the emerging industry of software testing. The development of any thing has its law of change and development. In foreign countries, the software testing industry has developed for twenty or thirty years, testing has been widely recognized in the industry, and the recognition of testing architecture is also high. In China, it is really too new, according to Zhaopin.com recruitment (www.zhaopin.com) 2007 on the soft test industry awareness survey, the majority of professionals on the soft test industry awareness is not high. Only 8.8 percent, less than 10 percent, chose "know something," less than 40 percent, and more than half chose not to know or even hear about it, as shown in Figure 4-2. These data also show that the domestic software testing industry is still in the early stage of development, but the domestic software industry has been in a period of rapid development, some large companies and companies with higher quality requirements have put the importance of software testing on the strategic agenda of enterprise development, and the demand for recruiting test architects is increasing.

Even though some small companies don't have a dedicated testing architecture role, that doesn't mean there isn't one. In fact, this role has existed in the testing architecture since it was created. It may fall to a test manager, test supervisor, test engineer, or even a development lead. The so-called "sparrow is small, but the five organs are complete," but the embodiment and development degree of this "five organs" will vary greatly. The design of test architecture is the same as that of other directions. It needs to think comprehensively and horizontally, not only considering the application and research of test technology, but also considering the management of testers and the design of test flow.

Testing relative to the design industry, such as software design and architectural design, is a technical ** industry, of course, it can also have its own products, namely service products, such as a group of excellent professional testing team, a set of appropriate testing processes, methods, etc. As shown in Figure 4-3, with software as the center, all test service products, including test human resources, rotate around the center to promote continuous optimization of software and ultimately output high-quality software products. The test architecture should consider not only all the products serving the software, but also the relationship between these products and the interface department, and even the relationship between the various links of the entire project chain and the soft test.
