However, the initiator of the critical Business Open Systems Industry Alliance, officially established in Beijing on September 15, is Sugon information industry co. Ltd. Oracle is one of the first members to participate in the Business critical Open Systems Industry Alliance. For the active participation of Oracle, some people also asked: Oracle has a Solaris operating system, Oracle database and Unix server used to be a perfect match, why Oracle now turn to U2L? Huang Wei, Senior Director of Government Affairs and Business Development of Oracle, explained: "Solaris is our core product, but at the same time we have also invested heavily in the Linux operating system. From the perspective of the market and the needs of users, the Linux open system is the development trend in the future. Linux has matured and is fully competent for enterprise-level key business in terms of availability, scalability, security and other aspects. We have cooperated with many Linux platform manufacturers at home and abroad to promote the use of Linux platform from the perspective of database. "

The traditional closed architecture is declining, while the new generation of core application systems built by x86 platform with rapidly improved performance and reliability, combined with cluster, distributed, cloud computing and other technologies, is gradually becoming the mainstream enterprise core business system architecture. The open architecture platform composed of x86 platform and Linux operating system has been adopted by more and more enterprise users.

There is no doubt that U2L is the general trend. But will the applications originally suitable for closed architecture also need to be changed when migrating from closed architecture to x86 platform? In terms of performance, architecture, business continuity and security, can the x86 platform completely replace the original minicomputer? After the implementation of U2L, who will provide users with follow-up service guarantee? One of the important purposes of establishing the key Business Open Systems Industry Alliance is to properly solve these problems.

In order to ensure the smooth migration of core applications from the closed system to the open platform, users need to make a comprehensive and detailed analysis and evaluation of the existing system, and choose a reasonable migration mode and architecture according to the system characteristics. At the same time of establishing the alliance, dawning released an "open platform plan". The aim is to create a professional service team composed of open architecture experts, database experts, performance optimization experts, industry solution architects and product marketing managers to create 10 typical one-stop migration success cases of U2L in the industry through the establishment of customer joint laboratories. Cao Lianyu, assistant to the president of dawning and general manager of the solution center, said: "dawning's open platform plan will ensure the safe migration of the application system to the open platform in the five stages of consultation and evaluation, planning and design, scheme verification, system migration, operation and maintenance, while maintaining the efficient operation of the system."

The first batch of manufacturers to join the key Business Open Systems Industry Alliance include multinational companies such as Intel, Red Hat, Oracle, VMware and Hewlett-Packard, as well as domestic manufacturers that have been working closely with dawning. According to the staff of the dawning marketing department, after the first dawning technological innovation conference in June this year, they began to hold the alliance founding meeting. Various manufacturers are very interested in this, and just the day before the press conference, another manufacturer said that they would join the alliance.

Although the manufacturers in the alliance are also competitors in some segments. But in the alliance, these manufacturers will adhere to the principle of "union, mutual benefit and development" and work together to build an ecological chain based on open platform. Alliance members from server, storage, operating system, middleware, database and other fields can work together to create vertical solutions for industry users according to the needs of customers, and further promote the implementation of U2L for enterprise users.

Dawning is the sponsor of the alliance. Will it use its position to turn the alliance into a testing ground for dawning integration solutions? Dawning said that in the future, it will not rule out the possibility of working with companies like Hewlett-Packard on multi-channel servers, but the core of the alliance is to build an open ecological chain of cooperation to achieve win-win results.

It is reported that the alliance will hold a meeting in November to discuss specific U2L promotion plans. Dawning has also taken the initiative to hope that the future alliance will be dominated by more neutral vendors such as VMware.
