First, install StarWind

1. Prepare the computer

StarWind will be installed on a Windosws 2012 R2 server with the IP address of 192.168.105.30

2. Start the corresponding service

Because iSCSI accesses shared storage through TCP protocol, and Microsoft provides simulators, relevant drivers are directly integrated in Win2012.

When installing StarWind software, the computer is required to start the iSCSI initiator service. Therefore, it is best to start the iSCSI initiator before installation.

3. Install the software

The installation process is relatively simple, with three prompts:

The first prompt indicates that the iSCSI initiator is not started on this computer, and if the service is not started, setup cannot proceed. If our previous action had started the "iSCSI initiator", this warning would not appear again.

There is a warning message to confirm whether to install the driver, there is no doubt that we click "install".

1. Add a host

2. Connect to the host

The default user name is: root and the default password is: starwind

3. Add a shared disk
