Citrix Provisioning accelerator technology

Technical description:

Allows the provisioning agent to reside in the Dom0 (XenServer Control Domain) on the XenServer host, where streaming technology push to the preprovisioned virtual disk is cached on the agent before it is transferred to VM. When caching is used, subsequent bootstraps (or any IO requests) of VM on the same host can be streamed from the agent rather than from the server over the network. When using this model, it takes up a lot of local resources on the XenServer host, but pushing the stream from the server through the network can save resources and effectively improve the performance.

Advantages:

1. Improve the performance of virtual disk delivery, all IO requests, from proxy requests.

2. Reduce network traffic

3. Increase fault tolerance. If the PVS server is down, it can still run.

System requirements:

XenServer 7.1or later

An optional package must be installed
