Instagram's CEO Adam Mosseri once again denies the possibility of iPad applications (because who cares about millions of iPad users, right?). It has been 12 years since Instagram was released-- there has been no accompanying iPad application for more than a decade-- and we are tired of it.

Think about it: iPad users must either be satisfied with getting an iPhone-sized Instagram application experience on a tablet or succumb to browsing the platform in a web browser-as Marques Brownlee points out-how ridiculous it is. 2022?

Mosseri's recent comments on the matter have not even sparked outrage. Over the years, he basically said the same thing over and over again, which was a huge blow to iPad owners / Instagram users there.

"it's still not enough to be a priority," Mosseri said on Twitter, referring to the possibility of Instagram's iPad app. "I hope to achieve it at some point, but now we keep a very low profile on other things."

We have electric cars, but we still don't have an INSTAGRAM application for IPAD.

Apple sold 17.5 million iPad units worldwide in the last quarter of 2021, with its iPad accounting for 34 per cent of the global tablet market last year, according to market research firm IDC. On the other hand, the Mac didn't sell as much as the iPad in the fourth quarter of 2021-IDC points out that Apple shipped 7.6 million Mac units during that period. IPhone sales are still far ahead, with IDC recording 8490 iPhone shipments in the last quarter of 2021.

In 2021, Apple reported that of the 1.6 billion active devices, more than 1 billion were iPhone. As sales continue to outsell Apple's other hardware lines and other smartphones, Mosseri clearly has every reason to discount platforms with a base of tens or hundreds of millions of installations, ignoring anyone who just wants to flip through photos on a tablet. Mosseri only further confirmed this in another tweet, in which he mentioned that Android-- currently has more than 3 billion active devices-the largest platform for Instagram services. If so, Instagram can skip anyone on iPad without a problem.

While it may seem strange to use Instagram on iPad, it's the same idea as using an application on a computer or laptop. You don't want to take pictures, but to browse on a larger screen, so you don't have to bother to look at every detail in someone's picture or video. In fact, Mosseri calls the iPad version of the Instagram app the "ultimate feature," and he classifies it with other coveted features, such as dark mode, scheduled posts, and the ability to delete individual photos from the rotation-to sink that into it. Maybe in 2023, he will decide that Instagram can finally work together to create an iPad-optimized application.
