Shulou(Shulou.com)06/01 Report--

Solaris how to modify the IPMP configuration, many novices are not very clear about this, in order to help you solve this problem, the following editor will explain for you in detail, people with this need can come to learn, I hope you can gain something.

Use the IPMP configuration file / etc/default/mpathd to configure the following system-wide parameters for the IPMP group.

FAILURE_DETECTION_TIME

TRACK_INTERFACES_ONLY_WITH_GROUPS

FAILBACK

How to configure / etc/default/mpathd files

"on a system with an IPMP group configuration, assume the primary administrator role or become a superuser."

The master administrator role has a master administrator profile. For information about how to create the role and assign it to users, see Chapter 2, "using Solaris" in the system Administration Guide: basic Administration

Management Console ".

Edit the / etc/default/mpathd file.

Change the default value of one or more of these three parameters.

Type a new value for the FAILURE_DETECTION_TIME parameter.

FAILURE_DETECTION_TIME=n

Where n is the time (in seconds) that the ICMP detector uses to detect whether an interface failure has occurred. The default value is 10 seconds.

Type a new value for the FAILBACK parameter.

FAILBACK= [yes | no]

The yes-yes value is the default failure recovery behavior for IPMP. When a failed interface repair is detected, the network access failure returns to the repaired interface, as described in the IPMP fault detection and recovery feature.

No-no indicates that data traffic will not be moved back to the repaired interface. When a failed interface is detected to be repaired, the INACTIVE flag is set for that interface. This flag indicates that the interface is not currently used for data communication

But the interface can still be used for detector communication

For example, suppose the IPMP group consists of two interfaces, ce0 and ce1. Then assume that the value FAILBACK=no is set in / etc/default/mpathd. If ce0 fails, its communications will

Fail over to ce1, which is the expected behavior of IPMP. However, when IPMP detects that ce0 has been repaired, communication does not recover from ce1 because in / etc/default/mpathd

The parameter FAILBACK=no is set in. The ce0 interface remains in the INACTIVE state and is not used for communication unless the ce1 interface fails. If the ce1 interface fails, the address on the ce1 is migrated

When you return to ce0, its INACTIVE flag is also cleared. The prerequisite for this migration is that ce0 is the only INACTIVE interface in the group. If there are other INACTIVE interfaces in the group, this

Some addresses may be migrated to INACTIVE interfaces other than ce0.

Type a new value for the TRACK_INTERFACES_ONLY_WITH_GROUPS parameter.

TRACK_INTERFACES_ONLY_WITH_GROUPS= [yes | no]

The yes-yes value is the default behavior of IPMP. This parameter causes IPMP to ignore network interfaces that are not configured in the IPMP group.

The no-no value sets fault and repair detection for all network interfaces, whether or not they are configured in the IPMP group. However, if a failure or repair is detected on an interface that is not configured into the IPMP group, it will not

A failover or recovery occurs. Therefore, the no value is only used to report failures and does not directly improve network availability.

Restart the in.mpathd daemon.

# pkill-HUP in.mpathd
