1. Item Introduction
"Monitoring item" is a zabbix server that monitors a specific metric on a specific object and loads related monitoring data collected for others.
For example, the average load of CPU per minute can be an item, the average load per 5 minutes is an item, and the rate at which a particular network interface receives messages is an item.
Each itme has a corresponding Type
For example:"Zabbix agent,""SNMP,""External check,""IPMI agent,""SSH agent,""JMX agent," etc.
The Zabbix server uses the appropriate type of protocol or mechanism to communicate with the monitored end.
The following figure is the configuration page of Item. The following explains the contents of the configuration page:
2、Item key
Each item has its own "key"
When communicating with the monitored end, the Zabbix server uses the corresponding protocol or mechanism to query the key value of the monitored end, and the monitored end calls the monitoring script corresponding to this key to obtain data and return it to the server end.
The key name can only be "0-9a-zA-Z_-." "(content in quotes) and other characters, and can accept parameters, its command habits such as system.cpu.load[,], where the contents in square brackets are parameters, and can be used in order of $1,$2,...... There are only two parameters in this example.
If you want to use an indefinite number of parameters, you can use "*" to indicate

For each item, the Zabbix server also defines how to store the item's data, how often the data is collected, and how long the historical data is saved.
Multiple items can also be grouped into a logical group defined by "application"
Example: net.tcp.listen[80]
net.tcp.listen is a key, indicating to listen to network tcp,[80]: is a parameter of key, indicating port 80, this item key means to determine whether port 80 of the host is in listening state.
3. Introduction to the main attributes of Item
Host: Select the host or template to which the newly created item belongs; the default is to click "item" to be the host or template to which it belongs;
Name: The name of the item, using macros $1,$2,...,$ 9, used to refer to the corresponding parameter in the corresponding Key; for example, the name "CPU $2 time" for system.cpu.util[,iowait], its name is "CPU iowait time";
Tyep:item type
Key: the key of the current item, the key supported by each item depends on the selected "Type"; For a host, each key must be unique; if the Type is "Zabbix agent","Zabbix agent(active)","Simple check" or "Zabbix aggregate", its Key value must be supported by Zabbix agent and Zabbix Server;
Type of information: storage format of data obtained from monitored end;
Numeric (unsigned):64-bit unsigned integer;
Numeric(float): Floating point number
Character: Character or string, up to 255 bytes long
Log: log file, only used when key is log[]
Text: Text, unlimited length
Data type: Specially used to specify the desired data format when the data type is "Numeric (unsigned)";
Boolean: Boolean value, 1 means "true", 0 means "false"; true, t, yes, y, up, running, enabled or availle will be converted to 1; false, f, no, n, down, unused, disabled or availle will be converted to 0;
Octal: Octal data;
Decimal: decimal data;
Hexadecimal: hexadecimal data;
Update interval(in sec): Time interval for retrieving data, 0 means data is not pulled;
Flexible intervals: Customize the data update interval, for example, Interval(in sec) is 10, Period value is 6- 7, 00:24:00 means that data is obtained every 10s on Saturday and Sunday;
Keep history(in days): Historical data retention time, in days; data longer than this time will be cleared by Housekeeper; generally speaking, only the data within the minimum number of days of the required time span needs to be retained;
Keep trends(in days): The retention time of aggregated data (such as min, max, avg, count, etc.) in days; data longer than this time will be cleared by Housekeeper;
Store value:
As is: do nothing;
Delta(speed per second): Save the calculation result as (value-prev_value)/(time-prev_time), i.e., the current value minus the previous data value, divided by the current timestamp minus the timestamp of the previous acquisition; if the current value is less than the previous value, it will be discarded;
Delta(simpe change): computer result saved as (value-prev_value);

Enabled: Enable
Disabled: Disabled
Not supported: Not supported
