In this issue, the editor will bring you about the function of my document in the xp system. The article is rich in content and analyzes and narrates it from a professional point of view. I hope you can get something after reading this article.

My documents is a system folder in WindowsXP, but many friends don't use it very often, or just use it to store files that work on a daily basis. In fact, "my document" is not just about storing files, it also has a lot of secrets and features that have not been used.

1. Changing the path makes it easy to save the file

The default path for "my documents" is "C:Documents and Settings user name My Documents", and for security reasons, everyone's working files are not usually saved on the system partition, so it is necessary to transfer the "my documents" path.

Right-click the "my document" icon on the desktop, select the "Properties" command, and open the property settings dialog box. Move to the destination folder tab and click the move button. In the pop-up browse folder dialog box, select the common working folder path. In this way, when you edit the file in the future, you can save it to the working folder at any time.

Sometimes you need to copy files from multiple different paths and move them to a specified folder. You can set the my documents path to the folder where you want to save the files. Then right-click the file you want to move, select the "send to → my document" command in the pop-up menu, and you can quickly copy files from different paths to the specified location.

two。 Create a "windowless" resource manager

Through the setting, you can view the contents of my documents in the start menu, which can be used to create a convenient resource manager.

First, right-click on the start menu, select Properties, click the customize button, open the Advanced tab, find my documents in the start menu items list, and set it to Show as menu. After setting up, select "my documents" directly in the "start" menu, and the next submenu will automatically pop up, from which you can see "my Music", "my Pictures" and so on.

Now, as above, change the default path of my documents to the commonly used work disk letter, for example, to "D:". After setting up, click "start all → programs", move the mouse over "my documents", and you can see the contents of all folders and subfolders on disk D. And it can easily display the next level submenu, jump in each subfolder, copy moving files and other operations. This "mini" explorer has no windows, closes automatically when it is opened, does not need a mouse click when you jump to the directory, and can be called at any time when there are other program windows on the desktop to maximize work. it doesn't affect the use of other programs at all.

3. "my documents" can also make screensavers

There is a Picture favorites folder by default in my documents. Using the Picture favorites folder in WindowsXP, you can easily make dynamic screen savers.

First copy the pictures you want to make as screen savers to the my document → Pictures Collection folder, then right-click on the desktop and select Properties from the pop-up menu. Click the "screen saver" tab, select "picture favorite slides" in the drop-down box, and then click the "Settings" button. In the Settings dialog box, you can set the display effect of the screen saver. When you are finished, click Preview to see the effect. Check the "use transition effect between photos" option, so that there will be a beautiful picture switching effect.

4. Fast network file sharing

Sometimes some documents need to be shared on the network for other users to view, or edited by multiple people, and the default path of my documents can be set to network sharing. Right-click my documents, open the properties dialog box in the pop-up menu, and select the share tab. Set a shared name, and the number of users that can be accessed, and click the "permissions" button to set the user's read and write permissions to my documents. When finished, when you want to share the file with other network users, right-click directly and select "send to → my document". The operation is very convenient.

5. Document indexing accelerates search

If you often want to search for information in "my documents", you can turn on the "my documents" index function, so the search speed will be greatly improved.

Right-click my documents, select the Properties command, then click the Advanced button on the General tab, and under Archive and Index, set up indexing the files in my documents to speed up the search.
