In 2017, although the market share of domestic databases increased to 17.64%, the market share is still very low. In 2017, China's database software market reached 12.022 billion yuan, of which domestic database enterprises accounted for only 1.715 billion yuan, and the rest were occupied by foreign enterprises. Domestic customers are mainly concentrated in the government, institutions, state-owned enterprises, central enterprises and so on.

In 2018, the global database market was $46.1 billion, an increase of 18.4 per cent over the same period last year. Among them, cloud database contributed US $10.4 billion, accounting for 22.56% of the global database market, contributing 68% to industry growth. Cloud database entered the fast lane. The advantage of cloud database is favored by the market, and it gradually replaces the dominant position of traditional database. In the face of such an external environment, the global database industry has ushered in a new round of changes in 2019, including Alibaba rising from 26th to 9th in 2014; Google from 23 to 10th; Huawei from 24 to 11 in 2015; and Tencent from 27th to 13th in 2016. The global database industry market is undergoing a reshaping in the context of cloud computing.

The trend of domestic database is clear

Globally, the three major manufacturers of traditional databases are Oracle, IBM and Microsoft, among which Oracle is the largest in the world, accounting for more than 40% of the market share of Chinese databases.

In the face of the situation that foreign enterprises occupy more market share, the industry does not show a pessimistic attitude, but seeks flaws in the fierce market and wins the market in one fell swoop.

On the one hand, foreign enterprises have a higher market share, mainly because foreign products are developed and commercialized earlier, the domestic market is laid out earlier, and the market foundation is good. For younger domestic products, it can be regarded as "big brother", so foreign enterprises have a higher database market share in our country is also the embodiment of precipitation for many years, the foundation of enterprises can not be touched at once. But behind this high share, we should note that the technology of many industry giants is mature, and the market share is stagnant. In order to reproduce the initial rapid development, we need the strength of the enterprise itself and the courage of the leader. For example, Oracle, the strongest in the industry, has not developed much database technology in the past few years, and has been nibbling on its original housekeeping skills, followed by poor cloud computing transformation, global layoffs and so on.

On the other hand, the cultivation of local manufacturers in the Chinese market provides a good development environment for domestic manufacturers. At present, no matter in the pan-financial industries such as banking and insurance, or in the fields of state-owned enterprises, government agencies and public security, domestic databases are comprehensively implemented from the perspective of security and self-control, which is a great opportunity for the development of domestic databases. The excellent performance of domestic manufacturers also conforms to the voice of the market.

The domestic database is valued at 26.8 billion yuan.

Data from the Bureau of Human Resources and Social Affairs in 2016 show that the number of civil servants in the country is 7.167 million, while that of the Bureau of Statistics shows that there are 57.397 million employees in state-owned units and nearly 300 million PC units in the stock of PC. Without considering the civil consumption market, based on the conservative assumptions of the government market and institutions, and based on the neutral assumptions of the government market, institutions and central enterprises and state-owned enterprises, we predict that their potential market space will reach 10.8 billion yuan and 26.8 billion yuan respectively. There is a lot of room for development.
