To build and deploy Exchange 2016 remote disaster recovery environment, we need to have two AD sites. In this experiment, it is inevitable to have two different network segments of IP, so we need to deploy a router, which can use windows server 2012R2 server as router function.

The following are the steps for setting up the configuration.

Add a virtual machine to a network card

Change the names of the two network cards to BJ and SH respectively.

3. Configure the network information of BJ and SH network cards respectively.

The IP of the BJ network card is 10.1.1.10. The IP of the SH network card is 172.16.1.10. No gateway and DNS are set, as shown below:

6. Check remote access in the server role

7. Default, next step

9. Check "DirectAccess and × × (RAS)" and "routing", then continue the default, and install it next.

10. Installation completed

11. Click "deploy only × ×"

13, open the routing and remote access server installation wizard, next

14. Click "Custom configuration" and next

15. Check "LAN routing", next step

16. Complete

17. Click "start Service"
