But it was strange that our house was in a small "valley" down the slope, and my house was facing the gym, but I could pick up a signal in front of the house and there was no signal at all in the back room. It seems that the back of the house is so steep that it is a blind spot in a straight line, and there is probably a reflection signal from the opposite house and the big tree in front of my house, so I can still receive a little bit. But the result is that the signal has no direction at all, and my cauldron doesn't work.

So the usb network card will still be used in the bare metal, so I bought an upgraded version of the usb network card a few days ago, with a small slap antenna, which the manufacturer said has the gain of 6db. In fact, a few days before the new network card arrived, I noticed that as soon as the next-door neighbor pushed open the screen door of his house, my net would be broken, and I have recently tried it in many ways. The signal is best when one side of the network card is facing roughly to the left outside my door. Far to the right outside the door are railways and residential areas, which should not be the source of the school's wifi signal. The most likely one on the left is the medical school five or six hundred meters away. According to the wifi distribution map of the school, the medical school is connected with wifi.

When I tried the satellite pot to enhance the reception, I also tried to move in that direction, but it was very likely that my small network card was not in the real focus of the cauldron, so it didn't have much effect. Before I put on a new wifi card, I decided to try the effect of the cauldron again. How to find out the focus position? I'm in a bit of a mess. On the Internet, it is said to spread a layer of tin foil on the pot and find the focus of reflection in the sun. I didn't have any tin foil on hand, so I tried to put the light-colored pot directly in the sun to see if there was any reflection. As a result, I tried it on the top for a long time, and I couldn't see even a little increase in the light on my hand. Later, I took the antenna pot into the house and used an one-kilowatt spotlight (also bought by yard sale with a knife, hh). I took a fancy to the fact that the radiation shape of the spotlight could be used as a receiver, or it could be the main light for my indoor photography. Rack your brains and finally come up with a good idea. I found two chopsticks, the one with a flat head, of course. Put one chopstick on the plane in the center of the cauldron, and the chopstick is perpendicular to the sphere and the other end points to the center of the circle. The other chopstick is placed at a point on the side of the cauldron, parallel to the central one, to simulate the incident light (wifi signal) perpendicular to the pot. At this time, move the chopsticks in the center of the pot with your left hand and place the second chopsticks at the same point on the pot, but perpendicular to the pan. Move the second chopstick to the inside according to the same visual angle with your right hand. At this time, put another chopstick back to the center of the pot perpendicular to the pan noodles, the intersection of the two chopsticks (chopsticks are too short, the intersection point is already on its extension line) is the focus of the pot.

After I put the usb network card in the focus of the cauldron and pointed the cauldron in the direction of the medical school, the computer showed that the reception intensity had increased to more than 30%, and the effect was very obvious. Finally, now that I have bought the new usb network card enhanced by 6db, I have replaced it with a new network card in the focus position. As a result, the signal has increased to 45-50%, which is awesome. When I used to use flashget to download music on Hongyu website, it reached about 150k, but now it is as fast as 300k, which is absolutely awesome. And the trouble of being old and offline is also greatly reduced (the neighbor baked bbq in front of his door at noon today, pushing the door in and out from time to time, which still broke me a few times. Apart from this kind of "man-made accident", it has been unblocked all the time. How can it make me unhappy?
