Computer preparation

1. The exch01.itwish.cn server defines the computer name exch01,ip address 172.16.10.111 and joins the domain environment.

2. The exch02.itwish.cn server defines the computer name exch02,ip address 172.16.10.112 and joins the domain environment.

Exchange prerequisites installation

Prepare Exchange 2016 prerequisites for two servers, exch01.itwish.cn and exch02.itwish.cn, respectively, including installation of windows components, installation of .NET Framework 4.6.2, and installation of Microsoft Unified Communications Managed API 4.0 Core Runtime (64-bit).

1. Open Windows PowerShell and run the following command to install the necessary Windows components.

Exchange prepares Active Directory and domain

Exchange 2016 prepares AD and domain for exch01.itwish.cn and exch02.itwish.cn servers, respectively, including extending AD architecture, preparing AD, and preparing domain.

1. Extend the Active Directory architecture

The first step in getting an organization ready for Exchange 2016 is to extend the Active Directory architecture. Exchange stores a lot of information in Active Directory, but before storing it, you need to add and update classes, properties, and other items.

Make sure your computer is ready to run Exchange 2016 setup.

Open a Windows command prompt window and go to the location where you downloaded the Exchange installation file.

Run the following command to extend the schema.

Setup.exe / PrepareSchema / IAcceptExchangeServerLicenseTerms

2. Prepare Active Directory

Now that the Active Directory schema has been extended, you can prepare other parts of Active Directory for Exchange 2016. During this setup, Exchange creates containers, objects, and other items in the Active Directory used to store information. The collection of all Exchange containers, objects, properties, and so on is called the Exchange organization. When you run the following command to prepare Active Directory for Exchange, you need to specify the Exchange organization. This name is used internally by Exchange. When you are ready, do the following to prepare the Active Directory for Exchange.

Open a Windows command prompt window and go to the location where you downloaded the Exchange installation file.

Run the following command:

Setup.exe / PrepareAD / OrganizationName: "" / IAcceptExchangeServerLicenseTerms

3. Prepare the Active Directory domain

To prepare all Active Directory domains, you can use the PrepareAllDomains parameter when running the installer. Setup will prepare each Exchange domain in the Active Directory forest for you. When you are ready, do the following to prepare all domains in the Active Directory forest as Exchange.

Open a Windows command prompt window and go to the location where you downloaded the Exchange installation file.

Run the following command:

Setup.exe / PrepareAllDomains / IAcceptExchangeServerLicenseTerms

Install and unmanned install Exchange Server 2016 through the wizard

Install the Exchange 2016 Mailbox server role and administrative tools for two servers, exch01.itwish.cn and exch02.itwish.cn, respectively. Use the installation wizard to install the Mailbox server role for exch01.itwish.cn and the unattended installation for exch02.itwish.cn to install the Mailbox server role.

The installation wizard installs the Mailbox server role for exch01.itwish.cn, as follows

Download the latest version of Exchange 2016 on the computer where you want to install Exchange.

In File Explorer, right-click the downloaded Exchange ISO image file and select load. In the generated virtual DVD drive, double-click Setup.exe to start the Exchange 2016 installer.

The Exchange Server 2016 installation wizard opens. In "check for updates?" Page, select Connect to Internet and check for updates, and then click next to continue:

Connect to Internet and check for updates it is recommended that you select this option so that you can search for updates for the version of Exchange 2016 to be installed (cumulative updates for the new version of Exchange 2016 are not detected). When this option is selected, you will go to the downloading updates page to search for updates. Click next to continue.

Do not check for updates

The copying Files page shows the progress of copying files to your local hard disk. Typically, the file is copied to% WinDir%\ Temp\ ExchangeSetup, which can be located in the Exchange installation log at C:\ ExchangeSetupLogs\ ExchangeSetup.log.

On the introduction page. Click next to continue.

On the license Agreement page, review the software license terms, select I accept the terms in the license agreement, and then click next.

On the recommended Settings page, select one of the following settings:

Using the recommended setting Exchange automatically sends error reports and information about computer hardware and how to use Exchange to Microsoft. To learn about the data sent to Microsoft and how it is used, click? on the page. Or help links.

Not using recommended settings disables recommended settings, but you can enable them at any time after setup is complete.

On the Server role selection page, configure the following options: click next to continue.

Mailbox role selecting this option also automatically installs Administrative tools.

Automatic installation of Exchange roles and features required for Windows Server installation Select this option to allow the installation wizard to install the required Windows prerequisites. You need to restart your computer to complete the installation of some Windows features. If this option is not selected, the Windows feature needs to be installed manually.

On the installation Space and location page, accept the default installation location (C:\ Program Files\ Microsoft\ Exchange Server\ V15), or click Browse to select a new location. Make sure that there is sufficient disk space in the required Exchange installation location. Click next to continue.

On the malware Protection Settings page, select whether you want to disable malware scanning. Malware scanning is enabled by default (the selected value "No"). If malware scanning is disabled, it can be enabled at any time later. Click next to continue.

On the Readiness check page, confirm that the organization and server role prerequisites check has been successfully completed. Then click install to install Exchange 2016.

On the installation Progress page, the progress bar indicates the installation progress.

On the installation completed page, click finish, and then restart your computer.

Restart the computer to complete the installation of Exchange server 2016 in the exch01.itwish.cn server

Unattended installation of mailbox server role installation for exch02.itwish.cn

Log in to the computer on which you want to install Exchange 2016.

Navigate to the disk location of the Exchange 2016 installation files.

At the command prompt, run the command applicable to the organization.

Setup.exe / mode:Install / role:Mailbox / OrganizationName:itwishOrganization / TargetDir: "C:\ ExchangeServer" / IAcceptExchangeServerLicenseTerms

Where role specifies the installation role, OrganizationName specifies the organization name, and TargetDir specifies the installation directory

Restart the computer to complete the installation of Exchange server 2016 in the exch02.itwish.cn server.

At this point, complete the installation of the 2 servers Exchange server 2016 Mailbox server role.
