Insufficient physical memory in VMware, unable to start the virtual machine with the configured settings

A few days ago, I shared with you how to install the CentOS system in VMware. Later, a partner consulted in the group. When you create a new virtual machine, open the virtual machine and pop up the problem of "insufficient physical memory to start the virtual machine using the configured settings", as shown in the following figure. Here are tips to reduce the memory size of the virtual machine to 20352MB.

The reason is that when some partners install the virtual machine system for the first time, they do not know how to configure the virtual machine, so they configure the virtual machine as much as possible. If the configuration is blindly increased, it will lead to the phenomenon of insufficient physical memory. This paper gives a solution to this problem.

1. Make sure the virtual machine is in the state of shutdown, as shown in the following figure.

2. Then click "Edit Virtual Machine Settings", as shown in the following figure.

3. Then the interface of the following figure pops up, which is the memory size (20GB) that was specified when the virtual machine was created.

4. Now you only need to change the memory size to the 20352MB of the error message, as shown in the following figure.

5. Then turn on the virtual machine again, as shown in the following figure.

6. I thought this would solve the problem, but unfortunately, I overturned again, as shown in the following picture.

7. The same error is prompted again, and the memory size has been reduced by one level again, so we also need to compress the memory for a while, and the method of setting it is the same as before, so I won't repeat it here. Simply set the memory size to 16GB. This is 16384MB, as shown in the following figure.

8. After the setup is complete, you can see the device information of the virtual machine in the VMware home page, as shown in the following figure.

9. Try turning on the virtual machine again, as shown in the following figure. This time the virtual machine can start normally.

At this point, the problem of "insufficient physical memory to start the virtual machine with the configured settings" has been solved, and then you can install the virtual machine system and other operations.
