Apple's latest iOS update is not fully completed, resulting in a variety of errors, from minor to serious. In fact, the situation was so urgent that Apple delayed the release of iOS 13.1 by a week to help solve the problem. Both games and many other games rely on multiple simultaneous touch inputs to control the characters in the game. The problem with iOS 13 is that it introduces three-finger hold-down gestures to provide more refined text editing options.

Since its official release yesterday, countless players have complained that the increased gestures have interrupted Fortnite and PUBG Mobile, especially the game. Both titles rely on the third-person perspective and usually involve placing two fingers on the screen to move the character and control the camera, while arching the third finger on the screen to aim at the target and perform other game functions. However, gestures in the game open a new text edit bar, and the big escape game is a lifetime thing, and you can't brush off the menu in a battle with another human player.

Fortnite's founder Epic Games commented on the matter on Reddit, and the community coordinator told players: "We already know that this problem should be solved in iOS version 13.1." Tencent, the mobile developer of PUBG, posted a notice in its mobile version confirming the problem and advising players not to update:

For players upgrading to iOS 13.0, we are aware of a problem. The three-finger touch screen will trigger the iOS function and interrupt the game.

We have raised questions with Apple and we will continue to work with them to solve them. We recommend that players who play games with more than three fingers not upgrade to iOS 13.0 until this problem is resolved.

I am running iOS 13.1 beta, and this problem has been solved in this version of the software. The PUBG mobile team also supported Epic's comments and wrote on Twitter, "13.1 should be the claws of more players."

One theory is that Apple is doing this so that the enhanced text editing tool opens only when you click on the text box, but Apple has not officially admitted this mistake. Some tests on my personal device do support this feature because the tool appears only when you click the text boxes for messages, signals, and similar applications.

In any case, this is not a good look for Apple. Fortunately, iOS 13.1 will be available soon. For users who have not yet updated, do not update.
