Due to the needs of the project, we encountered the need to modify the sec_case_sensitive_logon parameter of oracle today, so I would like to summarize it here.

(1) in 11g, sec_case_sensitive_logon defaults to true, which is case-sensitive. When set to false, ordinary users are not case-sensitive, but for sys administrator users, they are case-sensitive.

(2) in 12c, this parameter is discarded and is not recommended. At the same time, after we set it to false, we will find that the passwords of ordinary users, whether in uppercase or lowercase, or the original correct password, cannot be logged in. So remember not to configure this parameter in 12c.

These are the conclusions drawn from the test, and the test process will no longer be pasted. Paste the description of this parameter in 12c:
