Install the DHCP service

Because DHCP services do not have a high demand for system resources, they can usually be integrated with other services in one server. Let's continue to install the DHCP service

1. First open start-> Piping tools-- > Service Manager

two。 Add the DHCP server role in Server Manager

3. To open the installation wizard, you first need to select the network adapter (also known as the network card) that provides services to the client.

4. If you are installing DHCP in the domain configurator, specify the current domain and the preferred and standby DNS servers. If you do not set the DHCP service in the domain, you do not have to set this item.

6. To add a scope, the scope is the IP address range of the client assigned in the subnet. Multiple scopes can be set in a DHCP server, and one scope will be created by default and activated when the DHCP service is installed. The function domain name can be named freely, which has no effect on the client. Other projects are set up according to the previous plan, and the lease term of the IP address is 8 days by default.

7. Since IPv6 is not configured, DHCPv6 stateless mode is chosen to be disabled

8. When building a DHCP server in a domain environment, you can directly authorize the DHCP server during installation. In the "authorize DHCP server" window, select "use current credentials" or "use backup credentials". You can directly authorize the DHCP server during installation.

9. Because you are currently logged in to the DHCP server as a local administrator, you need to use the domain administrator account administrator to authorize the DHCP server. If you previously logged in to the DHCP server as a domain administrator, you can select the first "use current credentials" command.

If you select Skip this DHCP server license in AD DSA, you can use the DHCP console to license the server after the installation is complete. The authorization method is to open the DHCP console, right-click the server name, and select "Authorization Command"

10. After confirming the installation selection, start installing the DHCP service, and after the installation is complete, open the "installation results" dialog box, indicating that the DHCP server has been successfully installed.

After the DHCP server installation completes successfully, you can select start-> Administrative tools-- > DHCP command to open the DHCP console and configure and manage the DHCP server.

II. Configuration and detection of clients

Open the client and check whether the IP address can be obtained automatically from the DHCP server.

The setup of the 1.DHCP client is very simple, as long as the IP address and the DNS server are set to be obtained automatically.

You can also know the lease expiration time of the IP address.

3. The client can also execute the ipconfig/all command to check whether the IP address has been rented and to obtain the relevant option setting values.

The client can obtain the IP address automatically, depending on the DHCP Client service. If the service is stopped, the client will not be able to obtain a dynamic IP address.
