Last year, I wrote a blog post "remembering the experience of Huawei S5700S-28P-LI-AC rewriting VRP" on 51CTO, and netizens asked: how to upload the VRP (flash:/s5700s-li-v200r007c00spc500.cc) file on Huawei S5700S-28P-LI-AC switch to FTP server. In the blog post "remembering S5700S-28P-LI-AC 's experience of rewriting VRP", this step was indeed omitted, causing some trouble to some netizens. Now sort out this process in detail and write a small blog post for netizens' reference.

I. preparatory work

As you can see from the title of the article, to upload VRP to a FTP server for backup, you need the following things:

1. Huawei switch (here take S5700S-28P-LI-AC as an example, other switches are similar)

2. FTP server (here we use windows server 2008 R2 as an example, other servers are similar)

Second, a brief introduction of ideas

First, find a windows server 2008 R2 (if it is not convenient to use a server in a production environment, you can use workstation to create a virtual machine), then create a FTP server on this server, set the corresponding FTP login permissions, then place the switch and server in a routed network, configure the management address of the switch, and log in to the switch. Use the ftp command to log in and upload VRP under the switch user view.

III. Operation steps

1. Add the FTP role on windows server 2008 R2 of the virtual machine

(1) right-click the computer and select "manage" from the pop-up menu.

(2) Open "Server Manager" and select "role" à "add role"

(3) Select "next" in the first dialog box of "add role Wizard".

(4) tick the role "Web server (IIS)" in the second dialog box of "add role Wizard", and then click "next"

(5) in the third dialog box of "add role Wizard", click "next"

(6) drop down to the end of the scroll bar in the fourth dialog box of "add role Wizard", select "FTP Server", and don't worry about anything else (after all, this is just a temporary FTP server), and then click "next".

(7) in the fifth dialog box of "add role Wizard", click "install"

2. Create a folder on D disk or E disk (no C disk as you like) (here the folder name uses MyFTP) as the FTP working directory. As shown below:

3. Configure FTP server

(1) Open "Internet Information Services (IIS) Manager"

(2) in the "Internet Information Services (IIS) Manager", right-click the root and select "add FTP site" from the pop-up menu.

(3) in the pop-up dialog box, set the FTP site name (any name) and the physical path (the folder created in step 2 above), set it, as shown below, and click "next".

(4) in the pop-up dialog box, SSL is set to "none", the rest can not be moved, and then click "next"

(5) in the pop-up dialog box, select "basic" for "authentication". Don't worry about the rest, click "finish".

The result is as follows:

4. Add FTP account

(1) Open the Server Manager, select "configure" à "local users and group" à "users", right-click "users", and select "New users" in the pop-up menu.

(2) set the user name, password and confirm password in the "New user" creation dialog box, select "user cannot change password" and "password will never expire", click "create", and click "close"

There will be one more account among users, as shown in the following figure

5. Authorize the FTP site

Open the Internet Information Services (IIS) Manager again, select "website" à "HelloFTP" (the FTP site you created earlier), click "basic Settings" on the right operator panel, and click the "Connect as" button in the "Edit site" dialog box.

The following dialog box appears

Select "specific user", click "Settings", the following dialog box appears, enter the account number and password created earlier, and click "OK"

Go back to the following dialog box, and then click OK

Go back to the following dialog box, and then the Edit Web site dialog box

Click "Test Settings" to open the following dialog box. If "Authorization" is checked, there is no problem with the connection.

"close". In the following dialog box, click OK to finish.

Go back to the Internet Information Services (IIS) Manager interface, click "HelloFTP", and select "FTP Authorization rules" from the middle "HelloFTP" home page.

Enter the "FTP Authorization rules" interface, click "actions" on the right, and select "add allow rules"

Open the following dialog box, select "specified user", enter the user name created earlier, select the permissions "read" and "write", and click "OK" when finished.

6. Set up the firewall

Windows server 2008 R2 after configuring the FTP site and FTP authorization, the firewall is released by default, but the program "C:\ Windows\ System32\ svchost.exe" is released, otherwise the client cannot log in. Do the following:

Open the windows firewall, first make sure that the network location on the right is "public network" (just remember the network location here, no action is required), and click "allow programs or functions to pass through the Windows firewall" on the left.

Open the following dialog box and click "allow another program to run"

Open the add Program dialog box and select Browse

In the Browse dialog box, select the text "svchost" and click "Open"

Go back to the add programs dialog box, in the list of the dialog box, there will be "Windows service main process", select, and click "add"

Go back to the "allow programs" dialog box, such as the following figure, check the "Windows service main process" and check the corresponding check boxes in the home / work (private) or public check boxes (select "Public" here), depending on the network location noted above. When finished, click OK.

Note: if you feel that this configuration of the firewall is troublesome, you can also turn off the firewall temporarily.

7. Test the FTP site

Find a computer that is on the same network segment as the server, or the route is reachable, open command, enter the command to test, as shown in the following figure

8. Configure the switch

Connect the switch and the computer with the console line, connect the switch with the hyperterminal software or SecureCRT software, and enter the switch management platform. First, configure the switch management address with the following command:

The management address is on the same network segment as the server. Finally, connect the server to the switch.

9. Upload files

First return the switch to user view mode (prompt yes mode)

Use the command dir to view the VRP file name and write it down, as shown in the following figure

This completes the backup of the VRP file to the FTP server.
