­less than a few months after the release of Android 8.0 Oreo, Google is now releasing the beta version of Android 8.1 Oreo. According to Google Play's official statistics, Android 8.0 Oreo currently accounts for only 0.2% of active devices. Even so, the company released the first developer preview of Android 8.1 early. Current devices that support Android 8.1 Oreo beta include-- Nexus 5X / 6P, original Pixel / Pixel XL, Pixel C, and Pixel 2 / Pixel 2 XL, which was released in October.

­Android 8.1 Oreo's API has been upgraded to level 27, while the earlier Android 8.0 is level 26. It includes a neural network API, which can provide hardware acceleration for machine learning operations on the device.

­Google said that ordinary applications will not call the API, it is designed for machine learning libraries and frameworks. API level 27 can also be targeted at low-storage devices, allowing Play Store to provide applications that better suit the specifications of the target device.

­Android 8.1 also has adjustments in notification operations, such as some notification calls do not work on low-storage devices, and applications can only submit notifications once per second. If you don't want to be a beta mouse, wait until the Android 8.1 Oreo is officially released in December.
