About windows10+ubuntu dual operating system

1, prepare to work, download windows10.iso, ubuntu.iso (LTS version for long-term support version), download ultraISO software, easyBCD2.3 (for the system configuration to create multiple boot system boot files).

2. Make U disk boot disk and use ULTRAISO to make U disk boot disk (write ISO system files to U disk by USB-ZIP+, download address ULTRAISO-EZB SYSTEMS).

3. Install windows10 first

4. Start WIN10 and divide the ubuntu into a special disk partition in the computer. Use windows's own disk management tool, select the partition, right-click to select the compressed volume, after compression, there will be an extra piece of "unallocated space".

5. Restart the computer, press the shortcut keys such as F12\ ESC to enter the BOOT MENU, and boot from the U disk. Shut down and insert the ubuntu U disk to start (it is recommended to disconnect the network, online ubuntu will install other software at the same time, affecting the installation speed), enter the ubuntu system interface and select the "simplified Chinese" language. Do not install the software for the time being, continue, when you want to manually break the disk, please select "other options" at the bottom.

6. Give ubuntu partition to primary users. Use 20g as a reference and divide it into four zones. When partitioning, remember to select "unallocated space". They are:

a. Root directory / (main storage systems, all kinds of software and other files)

Mount point: /, size 5G; partition type: primary partition; location of the new partition: start; location for: EXT4 log file area

b. Swap space (also known as virtual physical memory, do not exceed the computer-oriented memory, its function is that when the computer does not have enough memory, it stores programs that are not often used by CPU) swap

Mount point: no setting, size 2G; partition type: logical partition; location of new partition: start; location for: swap space

c. Boot partition directory / boot (can be understood as the "door" to choose which system to enter when the computer is powered on)

Mount point: / boot, size 200m; partition type: logical partition; location of the new partition: start; location for: ext4 log file area

D.home directory (folders shared by each user).

Mount point: / home, the rest is allocated; partition type: logical partition; location of the new partition: start; location for: EXT4 journal file system

7. Do not click "install" after dividing the area. Pay special attention to this. To "install the device where the boot loader is installed:" quickly select the drive letter where / boot is located, such as "dev/sda8", click install, and so on, restart when prompted to complete the installation. But after rebooting, it is still WIN, and there is still one last step.

8. Install EASY BCD2.3 software, which is used for system configuration to create boot files for multiple boot systems, that is, to create a new boot file that allows the computer to choose which system to enter when it starts.

Add a new entry-- "Select linux/BSD"-- Type select "Grub (Legacy)" drive

Select a drive-add an entry, save and restart the computer.
