According to MacRumors, last month, Uber seemed to have silently stopped supporting its Apple Apple Watch version of App, and several Uber users noticed that they could no longer take a taxi through their watches.

Oddly enough, Uber does not remove Uber App from App Store. The App can still be downloaded and installed on Apple Watch, but opening it displays a message about abandoning support, ending with a sad emoji.

The change was not mentioned on Uber's website, although the App has been unavailable since around December 8 last year.

IT House learned that the Uber Apple Watch version of App has been able to take a taxi since it was launched in 2015, but it has always been less functional than the iPhone version of App. It does not support uberPOOL, price sharing, ETA sharing or contacting Uber drivers, which may be the reason why it was stopped.

Uber suggested that Apple Watch users switch to iPhone version of App to take a taxi, but it is not clear when the Apple Watch version of App will be deleted.
