Describes the configuration of Active Directory Domain Services (ADDS) on AD01, and then joins the Configuration Manager server (CM16) into the newly created domain. Then you create users, user groups, and OU in Active Directory, and create a system management container. Finally, delegate the permissions of the Configuration Manager server to the System Management container

SCCM 2016 configuration Management Series (Part 5-7)

Windows Server 2016 roles and features are configured on the Configuration Manager master server (CM16), and Windows ADK 1709 components are downloaded and installed. Next, SQL Server 2017 CU5 is installed and the WSUS role is added.

The role uses SQL to store SUSDB instead of Windows Internal Database (WID)

We will download and extract the ConfigMgr image, download the ConfigMgr prerequisites, and then extend the Active Directory schema in the installation of System Center Configuration Manager (current branch) version 1802.

In this section, you will create a collection of devices to prepare for SCCM Client Agent installation, as well as a sequence of software push tasks and patch updates. The collections created include some based on the recently released version 1803 of Windows 10.

Summary

We have created a large set of collections to classify all Windows 10 computers according to Windows version numbers and create easily identifiable groups so that we can use policies to manage or use upgrade task sequences to locate client devices
