Project background:

The college is one of the earliest institutions of higher medicine established in the country. The school adheres to the concept of "academic first, teacher-student-oriented, symbiotic and win-win" to train talents in the pharmaceutical industry. The college has been equipped with 183 multimedia classrooms, of which 76 are regular recording classrooms and 107 have been built into visual classrooms.

Project requirements:

 normal recording classroom and visualization classroom need material collection space every day.

 introduces AI intelligence to collect and analyze classroom data.

Preservation and backup of  Teaching data

Project description:

The school carries out unified planning and construction of all multimedia classrooms, with multiple cameras in each classroom. Through the front-end 259 cameras, the real-time video data of teachers' teaching pictures and classroom dynamic pictures are collected and transmitted to the central control center, and transmitted to Infortrend GS storage devices to save video data, so as to achieve a unified visual teaching management platform. This setting, on the one hand, to achieve the goal of reuse of teaching resources, through rebroadcast courses to help students consolidate knowledge and improve teaching quality. On the other hand, it can also be recorded and broadcast video for teaching evaluation. In addition, it also provides strong technical support for invigilating the examination.

Infortrend GS provides up to 448 local hard drives up to 5.3PB massive data space, the school 259 high-definition cameras, even 24 hours a day uninterrupted camera, can also save a year and a half of video data. And through the seamless docking of the characteristics of the cloud, we can achieve cloud space expansion.

Based on Infortrend storage devices supporting mainstream public clouds such as Amazon S3, Azure, Aliyun, Baidu Cloud, Tencent Cloud and OpenStack private cloud, the school has built a cloud broadcast classroom and uploaded recorded videos into high-quality courses on the cloud to achieve teaching sharing between teachers and students.

At the same time, the recording software is deployed through Docker, and the front-end network digital camera is connected through the network, that is, the ability to record local video and playback is realized. At the same time, video data can be stored locally or in the cloud, and can also be shared with other users or applications through NFS/CIFS/FTP.

Infortrend GS provides a full range of data services, transmits the video data obtained from the front end to local storage, and then backs up the data through backup mechanisms such as snapshot, volume replication, volume mirroring and other backup mechanisms to ensure reliable disaster recovery services.

Infortrend GS is equipped with symmetrical dual-active controller. Redundant configuration of cache, link and power supply can avoid a single point of hardware failure, while software design with IDR intelligent hard disk repair technology can prevent potential errors.

In the face of the long-term intelligent campus development in the later stage, Infortrend GS products can introduce AI technology into the campus based on the advantage of supporting Docker deployment application software. Through the collection and analysis of classroom data and the ability of cloud AI data calculation and analysis, students' face recognition, student location, AI interaction and other applications can be realized. And the function of face recognition can also be embedded in the recording system, students into the classroom, the system can be "face scanning" recording.
