Shulou(Shulou.com)06/01 Report--

The Tungsten Fabric (TF) community officially launched version 5.1 in June this year, which is the latest version of the community so far (see the link at the end of the article for more historical version information).

The TF community has been working to meet community and technical challenges to ensure that the most intractable network challenges are solved through a thriving and dynamic community, regardless of public clouds, orchestrators, or workloads. TF version 5.1 is the result of this effort. Now is a good time for Tungsten Fabric to meet network needs in this cloudy world based on its developer or operational role.

A quick overview of the main points of TF version 5.1:

Code quality is paramount, and all known P1 and P2 errors are eliminated before release

New features of containers and hybrid clouds enable developers to work better

Enhanced performance and scalability to meet the needs of operators

Additional information about the new features in version 5.1

The following is a more detailed description of the benefits and features of Tungsten Fabric 5.1:

A firm commitment to code quality

The TF community has years of experience in creating feature-rich networks for all types of orchestrators and public clouds. Before the release, the latest TF eliminated 1600 P1 and P2 errors. Currently known P1 and P2 problems are zero! Special thanks go to all the members of the TF community who have spent countless hours optimizing development practices and conducting rigorous software testing.

Enhanced network capabilities in various usage scenarios Tungsten Fabric 5.1 now supports container service chains by supporting containers with multiple network interfaces. The service chain is a distinctive and powerful feature on TF, which is now available for all cloud native / container workloads. The TF 5.1 control plane also supports extended community attributes, allowing operators to build flexible routing strategies to integrate with existing network designs. Finally, are you trying to provide customers with a "Cloud Router" VRF service that uses BGP? Based on the control node, the BGPaaS feature of TF 5.1 now provides optional peering services that allow you to integrate VNF running BGP and ensure high availability in the event of a control node failure. High-performance network TF 5.1 continuously improves the ability to support high-performance networks by supporting "Fat Flow" and optimizes the establishment of flow tables for high-performance scenarios. In scenarios where TF must support millions of streams (such as Internet access for operator users), operators can use Fat Flow to aggregate flows, thereby reducing delays in flow table establishment. TF 5.1 also has many flow table optimization features to reduce performance bottlenecks. Specifically, TF vRouter now supports the use of Cuckoo hashes to eliminate performance bottlenecks caused by vRouter having to perform a large number of flow table lookups under heavy loads. TF 5.1 introduces DPDK optimization through batch processing to improve data plane performance. We want to meet the most stringent throughput requirements! Multiple cloud environments, one Tungsten Fabric

The mission of TF is to provide a network matrix for any cloud, any orchestrator, and any workload. We provide the latest enhancements to support this cloudy world.

Tungsten Fabric can be used as a network overlay for any choreographer and any workload. TF 5.1 supports the following orchestrators with its latest version

Tungsten Fabric in Kubernetes 1.12OpenShift 3.11OpenStack Ocata and later VMware vCenter 6.7 Public Cloud

Cloudy involves almost all customers running workloads in the public cloud. Tungsten Fabric 5.1 hopes to meet the multi-cloud needs of developers and operators, and currently supports AWS and Azure (GCP support is under development)!
