Use the Azure backup service to back up the Azure virtual machine (VM). Back up the VM according to the schedule specified in the backup policy and create a recovery point from the backup. The recovery point is stored in the Recovery Services repository. This article details how to enable backup when creating a virtual machine (VM) in the Azure portal.

1. First log in to the Azure portal portal.azure.com

The following core images published by Microsoft are supported to enable backup during VM creation. For other VM, you can enable backup after you create the VM.
