Here we should make corresponding settings for the sender's information, such as name, fax number, office phone number, address and so on. Be sure to fill in the sender's name and fax number. The fax number is the landline number that connects to modem.

When you are finished, click next to enter the Select Fax sending or receiving equipment dialog box. Select your modem in the "Select Fax equipment" column of the dialog box, check the "allow to send" and "allow to receive" check boxes below, and click the following answer mode as needed. If you choose "automatic answer", you also need to set the number of times the phone rings before answering. Click next after setting up, and enter the phone number displayed when sending the fax document in the "tsid" and "csid" text boxes that appear, so that the fax machine of the other party can identify it.

When you are finished, click next to open the routing options dialog box, where you want to set up the received fax files. If you want to print the fax file you received, check the "print to" check box here, and select the printer name in the following list of printer fax machines. If you want to save a copy of the received fax file on your computer, you also need to check the "Save copy to folder" option, and then use "Browse" to select a folder to save the fax file. At this point, the fax properties have been configured successfully, click next, and click finish in the finish Fax configuration dialog box.

Third, receive faxes

When a fax is sent, if your computer is online, windows xp will automatically start the fax tool to receive documents. After completion, an icon will appear in the system taskbar to receive the new fax file, and the system will save the fax file in the folder you set up earlier in the format of the graphic file.

You can view it in the Fax console, or you can browse the fax documents directly through some picture viewing tools.
