Rongliyun desktop storage pool scheme adopts the concept of software-defined storage. The software defines the x86 server cluster as a storage pool, and creates logical volumes in the storage pool to realize the network sharing of storage resources, and meets the needs of high-speed data reading with the help of Gigabit / 10 Gigabit Ethernet network. The storage pool scheme gives cloud desktops the reliable performance of never losing data and the scalability of unlimited storage space.

The storage pool can quickly provision storage capacity according to business requirements and achieve rapid capacity expansion without stopping the service. Each server in the storage pool, as a storage node, expands the total capacity of the storage pool by adding new nodes or adding hard drives to existing nodes.

Create a logical volume in which storage blocks are automatically copied to multiple nodes. For example, we need at least 2 nodes to create a logical volume with 1 copy, or at least 3 nodes to create a logical volume with 2 replicas. The advantage of this volume is that even if one block fails, the data can still be obtained from the replicated block, and the logical volume automatically replicates the block again to maintain the number of redundant copies of the block.

Create a logical volume in which storage blocks are hashed to multiple nodes. In the distributed replication mode, the data blocks in the logical volume are first distributed to multiple nodes to improve the concurrency ability of Istroke O, and then the data block replication is completed among multiple nodes.

Note: NFS and iSCSI are supported in the current mount method.

(2) support zero downtime maintenance and dynamic migration of cloud desktops to ensure uninterrupted business.

The virtual hard disk resources of cloud desktops in the XenServer cluster are connected to the shared storage pool through the network, and cloud desktops can be instantly migrated between two XenServer without downtime. If the XenServer cluster enables HA high availability mode, cloud desktops running on failed XenServer hosts can resume running on other XenServer hosts according to the resource configuration rules.
