The 2019 Open Source Cloud Computing Industry Conference, sponsored by the China Academy of Information and Communications, was held in Beijing on July 3. Tencent Open Source won five awards, including Pinnacle Open Source Enterprise Award, Pinnacle Open Source Technology Innovation Award (independent R & D project), Pinnacle Open Source Technology Innovation Award (based on community version secondary development project), Industry Open Source Technology pilot Award and Pinnacle Open Source character, and became the first spontaneous open source enterprise to pass the evaluation and certification of trusted open source governance capability.

On July 2, Tencent's total number of Star on GitHub reached 230000, making it one of the top 10 open source Star in the world.

Xu Yong, executive director of Tencent Open Source Management Office, said, "We have recently released Tencent's open source roadmap to deepen Tencent's existing technical capabilities through a 'three-step' open source plan. Xia Zixin, senior compliance manager of Tencent Open Source Management Office, said that this is a complete open source operation mechanism from platform construction, incubation, review to project release and operation, which not only enables Tencent open source to develop in an efficient and sustainable manner, but also provides a good reference model for open source standardization governance in the industry. Tencent is also the first spontaneous open source enterprise in the country to pass the evaluation and certification of trusted open source governance capabilities, reflecting the industry's affirmation of the "Tencent method".

It is understood that trusted open source certification is led by the China Institute of Information and Communications, and more than 20 domestic IT enterprises and financial institutions have participated in the formulation, which is the first open source governance capability evaluation standard in China. Open source governance capability evaluation for spontaneous open source enterprises, it mainly examines the standardization of enterprises in nine aspects: open source governance organization structure, open source project management system, open source tool platform construction, open source project application, open source project approval, open source project release, open source project operation and maintenance, open source community management, and open source project closure.

Under the efficient open source governance mechanism, Tencent has emerged a number of high-quality and high-reuse open source projects, with a total of 75 projects, covering cloud computing, Tencent Games, Tencent AI, Tencent security, Mini Program and other fields. The interactions of these projects in GitHub have also received good feedback. TarsCloud and Tencent Cloud TStack won open source technology innovation awards.

As representative projects, TarsCloud of Tencent Open Source and Tencent Cloud TStack were unveiled at the conference.

TarsCloud won the Pinnacle Open Source Technology Innovation Award in the category of independent research and development projects. It includes three open source projects: TARS, TSeer and DCache. TARS is a high-performance RPC development framework based on name service using TARS protocol, while supporting an integrated service governance platform. TSeer and DCache cut into different sub-areas based on TARS ecology. TSeer is a lightweight of TARS name service, and DCache is a distributed NoSQL storage system based on TARS framework.

According to Shan Zhihao, head of the TarsCloud project, the TarsCloud open source project has been applied to hundreds of enterprises in communications, finance, transportation, Internet of things and other fields, serving tens of thousands of developers. In terms of the popularity and code contribution of the project, as of July 4, 2019, the cumulative number of Star of TarsCloud has exceeded 10, 000, and there are 87 contributors. On average, a new version is released every two months, the number of Commit reaches 1479, and there are 13 code bases. In terms of technological innovation, TARS provides an efficient and visual operation and maintenance platform, supports multiple languages, including various mainstream languages, such as C++, Java, Go, PHP, Node.js, etc., can automatically generate communication codes related to the client and server, and supports synchronous, asynchronous and one-way call modes. At the same time, it supports IDC and SET grouping, and provides the function of access to the nearest area and computer room. TSeer lightweight service registration discovery fault-tolerant scheme is very low intrusive to the business. The data of DCache is stored in memory, and the data can be persisted by connecting to the backend DB.

The winner of the "Pinnacle Open Source Technology Innovation Award" in the community-based secondary development project category is Tencent Cloud TStack. As one of the largest open source private cloud platforms in China, Tencent Cloud TStack is based on OpenStack, docker, K8s, istio and other open source bottom layers, and has carried out a large number of development and transformation on the basis of open source, which not only solves the risk of instability in large-scale deployment of OpenStack, but also realizes key capabilities such as automated deployment, multi-cloud management, container services and micro-service framework, and provides complete product system and operation services. Form a complete set of private full-stack cloud solutions.

Zheng Songjian, head of Tencent Cloud TStack technology, mentioned that Tencent Cloud TStack's super compatibility not only supports traditional X86 architecture, but also adapts to a variety of domestic servers and minicomputers. Flexible delivery and deployment capabilities make it have strong project adaptability, and are widely used in government affairs, health care, manufacturing, construction, education and other industries related to the national economy and people's livelihood. Up to now, Tencent Cloud TStack has deployed more than 12000 hosts in Tencent and has been in stable operation for 7 years.

The Industry Open Source Technology pilot Award is a new award set up this year to recognize independent open source projects established in cooperation with OSCAR that can have a huge impact in the vertical industry, fill the domestic technology gap, and play a leading and driving effect.
