Set service area identifier (SSID)

SSID is used to distinguish between different wireless networks, and a SSID is made up of up to 32 characters. In general, wireless routers have a default SSID logo when they leave the factory. If the SSID identification information is not modified in time, conflicts may occur with other wireless networks. When the wireless terminal accesses the wireless router, it must provide a valid SSID, and only matching can access it. AP and wireless routers broadcast their own SSID numbers to all wireless clients by default, making it easier for users to access the appropriate wireless network. The function of broadcast SSID not only facilitates normal users, but also creates conditions for illegal users to access the network, so the "allow SSID broadcast" function of AP and wireless network should be cancelled in time, so that illegal users can not search the SSID number, so as to reduce the probability of the network being * * and increase the security of the network.

Turning off the SSID broadcast of the access point in the wireless network can hide the user's network to a certain extent, but it can not rely too much on SSID hiding. Therefore, eavesdroppers can use legitimate wireless analyzers to quickly discover the SSID of connected network users in a busy network.

Start the encryption settings for the wireless network

Set up MAC address filtering

MAC address filtering is a common security measure in wireless network security measures. Turning on the MAC address filtering function of wireless devices can refuse illegal MAC addresses to access the wireless network and effectively control the access rights of wireless clients. Wireless MAC filtering can make wireless network more secure.

Enable MAC address filtering, although it adds a layer of security to control which clients can link to the wireless network. However, eavesdroppers can easily see the authorized MAC address on the network and then change the MAC address of their computer.
