Deploy remote Desktop Services

Deploying a large number of computers in the enterprise is not only a large investment, but also very difficult to maintain. by virtualizing desktops and applications on the basis of terminal services, the work efficiency of employees can be greatly improved and the cost of the enterprise can be reduced.

RDS (remote Desktop Service) launched by Microsoft, administrators deploy applications centrally on RDS servers, providing access to users in a virtualized way, and users no longer have to install applications on their own computers. When the user calls the application program located on the RDS server on the remote desktop, it is just like running on his own computer, but actually uses the resources of the server, even if the user's computer configuration is low, there is no need to replace the computer, which saves the cost of the enterprise and reduces the maintenance cost and complexity.

RDS service is divided into terminal and central server, which provides services and resources for terminals.

Terminal

Thin client: a minicomputer that has no high-speed CPU and large memory, no hard disk, uses a solid small operating system, and uses the server's computing and storage resources over the network.

PC: a personal computer that enables PC to connect to and use the server's computing and storage resources by installing and running terminal emulation programs.

Mobile phone terminal: an abbreviation of the transceiver end of a mobile phone wireless network, including a transmitter (mobile phone) and a receiver (network server). Use RDP remote Desktop to connect to PC through your mobile phone. As long as you enter the corresponding login account, password, Port and other information, you can control the computer at home or in the enterprise to handle things.

Deploy the Windows RDS service:

Add roles, select remote Desktop Services, and next

Select the required role service

Specify whether to use network and authentication

Need to purchase a Microsoft license with a grace period of 120

Add users and groups with access to the terminal server to join the Remote Desktop Users group

Restart the computer to complete the role addition

Open remote Desktop Manager

Select add Program

Select the software to be remote, and take FileZilla as an example

Right-click the software and you can see that the client can use the program in three ways

Enter "http://IP/RDWeb"" on the client side to connect to the remote desktop

Create a .rdp file similar to a package, click, follow the wizard prompts to complete the creation

Add to a shared folder for terminals to use

Access the remote server from the client and double-click to run

In this way, the client can use the server's resources without having to install the program, reducing the cost.
