Shulou(Shulou.com)06/01 Report--

Armonk, New York, February 29, 2016-IBM Security today announced plans to acquire Resilient Systems to significantly expand its security operations and incident response capabilities. When dealing with network events, from vulnerabilities to device loss, the event response platform developed by Resilient Systems can automatically handle and orchestrate many processes. This enables customers to respond to and avoid network events more quickly, thereby minimizing risk threats.

As part of today's announcement, IBM also launched the new IBM X-Force Security incident response Service, which draws on the knowledge of 3000 consultants and security researchers around the world to further expand IBM's ability to help customers plan, manage and respond to the network. The expected integration of Resilient Systems's award-winning platform, IBM Qradar Security Intelligence Platform, and IBM security portfolio with Resilient Systems technology will be a fundamental part of these new services. The new service includes remote incident response capabilities to help customers understand how vulnerabilities occur and take action to close them.

Prevention and response networks have proved to be an important challenge for enterprises for various institutions. According to a new study by the Bonemon Institute (Ponemon Institute), 70% of US security managers do not have a network security incident response plan. As far as the company's business is concerned, this has caused great losses. Another study by the Bonemon Institute (Ponemon Institute) [2] shows that the average cost of data vulnerabilities rose to $3.8 million in 2015, up 23% from 2013.

"by acquiring Resilient Systems's technology and expertise, IBM will gain an industry leadership in consulting, services and products designed to help customers respond to network vulnerabilities," Marc van Zadelhoff, general manager of IBM security, told reporters. IBM is the fastest growing enterprise security company in the world and a leader in the network detection and protection industry. The acquisition of Resilient Systems and the launch of X-Force security incident response service give us a dual lead in the incident response market. Whether in vulnerability protection or after the rapid elimination of vulnerabilities, network security needs to function like the immune system. "

The new incident response capability greatly enhances the security capability of IBM. IBM has become a market leader in security intelligence [4], capable of vulnerability detection and protection. In 2015, IBM's security revenue reached $2 billion, well above the market average, and recently recruited 1000 professionals to carry out the security business.

IBM Announces acquisition of Resilient Systems

IBM announced today that it will acquire Resilient Systems, a leader in security incident response solutions with approximately 100 employees in Cambridge, Mass. At present, Resilient Systems's incident response platform is widely used by Fortune 500 enterprises and is welcomed by customers and institutions in various industries, including financial services, health care, retail, US federal government, manufacturing and educational institutions. The terms of the deal did not disclose that the deal is expected to be completed by the end of the year after the necessary regulatory review.

Resilient Systems's event response platform technology enables customers to respond to security vulnerabilities faster and more accurately, and to be more coordinated, so that the response processes of various functional departments (security, HR, finance, government relations, etc.) and security systems (systems that control data, applications, endpoints and networks, etc.) can be arranged. The platform is also very beneficial to the increasing regulation of customer response. Through the acquisition of Resilient Systems,IBM, it will be the first company in the industry to integrate end-to-end security operations and provide an event response platform. The platform will integrate security analysis, forensics, vulnerability management and incident response to coordinate enterprise protection, detection and response to threats.

"IBM is the fastest growing enterprise security company in the industry and we are excited to be a member of IBM," said CEO,John Bruce, co-founder and CEO,John Bruce of IBM. "through collaboration, the market has access to advanced protection, detection and response technologies in the same portfolio of security solutions-security can kill three birds with one stone."

A major benefit will be the expected integration of Resilient Systems's event response platform with IBM QRadar Security Intelligence Incident Forensics, BigFix, IBM X-Force Exchange, and IBM event response services, which will give IBM the ability to choreograph security incidents. Improved analytical capabilities will also lead to an event response integration scheme that will cross institutional and product boundaries.

The Resilient Systems platform provides a complete set of response strategies for different event types and provides a knowledge base for global regulatory requirements and compliance actions. This provides best practices for responding to a range of events, from malware to distributed blocking services, to data loss. This enables institutional users to collaborate in the response process and provide instant access to data from more than 12 network threat intelligent inputs and other integrated network security and IT systems, including IBM X-Force Exchange, which is one of the largest threat intelligence databases in the world.

IBM launches X-Force event response service

IBM today also launched a new X-Force security incident response service, including consulting and security management services, to help customers manage network vulnerability responses in a comprehensive manner. IBM X-Force 's security experts will help customers develop response strategies, including computer incident response team strategies and ways to find, track, respond to, and report security incidents more effectively. These new capabilities will be further enhanced through the acquisition of Resilient Systems.

The new service will also include a new remote event response service that will actively look for vulnerabilities and allow IBM security experts to proactively manage remotely through cloud computing. Part of this capability will be improved through technology acquired from Carbon Black, which allows IBM security analysts to take evidence from the affected endpoint device, identify the area where the vulnerability first occurred, map it to other devices, quickly find the vulnerability and take action to close it.
